CONVERTIBLE CAR SEATS

Rear-Facing

  • Rear-face until the child reaches the upper rear-facing weight OR height limit of the seat.

  • Most can be used rear-facing to about 35-40 pounds.

  • NEVER place in front of an airbag.

  • Harness snug and at or below shoulders.

  • Chest clip at armpit level.

  • Attach to car with seat belt or lower anchors.

  • Do NOT buy or add anything extra to the seat.

5 to 30-40 pounds

Forward-Facing

  • Forward-face after the child reached the upper rear-facing limits until the child reaches the upper forward-facing height limit of the seat. (Usually around age 4 and 40-65 pounds; some can be used longer.)

  • 2 years or older; must have outgrown the rear-facing seat.

  • Harness snug and at or above the shoulders.

  • Chest clip at armpit level.

  • Attach to car with seat belt or lower anchors and top tether strap.
